Our member demonstrating couple photo shooting
Kellie's Castle was built by a Scottish planter called William Kellie Smith from Scotland. In 1890, Smith at the age of 20 left his home farm in Kellas for Malaya (Malaysia).

We then traveled to Kellie's Castle. Before we start our journey, we need to put a lot of sunscreen to prevent us from getting sunburn as you know Malaysia's Sun is terrible. After we were fully equipped, we then started to explore the mystery of the historical castle that have some haunted ghost stories.

The tickets (RM5.00 each) and the castle
Before we walk into the castle, each of us have to buy a RM5 ticket at the counter that is located in front of the castle. When we stepped into the castle, we were so impressed of the beauty of the castle. It is huge and very beautiful. next, we went inside the castle and try to look for something interesting. There are many interesting stories related to the castle. For example, the stairway leading up to the balcony and the upper floor were rumored that William Smith's ghost was seen walking about, looking out of the window.

Magnificent historical remains
They said the horse stable and the collapsed guard house were rumored to be haunted as well. Too bad we weren’t there at night because there was a paranormal tour organized as part of the Visit Malaysia 2014 campaign. However, it is also a place that can let us take a lot photos. The castle has an elevator too. It was the first elevator built in Malaysia which can travel from the roof down to the underground tunnels. Unfortunately, after so many years, it can't be used anymore. After staying there until 5pm, we traveled to another destination. If you are a tourist that planned to visit Perak, Kellie's Castle will definitely be a place that you must visit.
