Ipoh Wall Art Murals, brought by a Lithuanian artist, Ernest Zacharevic has become a new popular tourist attraction in Ipoh which attracts more local or abroad tourists visit Ipoh apart from being a food paradise. Overall there are 7 spots around Ipoh Old Town. His unique brand of wall art has enlivening that sense of nostalgic moments related to Ipoh’s heritage and local culture.

         We explore the Ipoh wall art murals at morning. We went around by foot due to limited parking issue. We start by ‘Kopi O’ mural .It was purposely brought by Ernest Zacharevic to celebrate Ipoh as the birth of the famous white coffee. We saw 4 huge Kopi-O “clinging” on the wall that represent one of the iconic culture of Malaysian, which is drinking “kopi” by from plastic bag .It was our favorite wall art murals at all.

       Then we proceed to “Trishaw” mural. We saw a man stacking black plastic bags that contain rubbish or recyclable items onto a trishaw. It was located just one street away from Jalan Market, a narrow lane at Jalan Shala. Then we found the Yellow Humming Bird mural just at the opposite of 'Kopi O' mural.It was located at Jalan Panglima.

        Next we found the ‘Old Uncle with Coffee Cup’ mural. We saw a portrait of a old uncle drinking coffee that represent the important heritage of Ipoh in drinking coffee. It was located on the side wall of the Oldtown White Coffee branch which is facing the Ipoh field. We also found the ‘Paper Plane’ mural, which is nearby the ‘Old Uncle with Coffee Cup’ mural. We saw 2 children sitting on a flying plane.

       Then we found the ‘Mining Town ‘mural with Chinese-Style Painting that shows the evolution of Ipoh town from a mining town during colonial period. It was located at Jalan Bijeh Timah .Last but not least, we found the ‘Girl on a Wall’ mural which shows a girl standing on a red plastic chair when trying to reach the bird cage. It was located at Jalan Bandar Timah.

    Oh yeah! Finally we managed to end our journey after spend around 1 hour and 30 minutes under the scotching hot weather. Please share it with friends and family. :)
