The view of leaning tower
The Leaning Tower is the landmark of Teluk Intan and is the Malaysia equivalent of the world famous Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. It is located in the centre of the town of Teluk Intan, Perak. The tower is slanted leftward, it is 25.5 meters tall and inside is divided into 3 storeys. The tower is located in the center of a square surrounded by Jalan Pasar, Jalan Selat, Jalan Bandar and Jalan Ah Cheong. It is built in 1885 by Mr. Leong Choon Cheong for the purpose to store water during the drought season.

A spiral staircase runs around the inner perimeter of the structure leading up to the top-most floor.
The pagoda style structure was greatly influenced by Chinese architecture, because the majority of the population of the town in previous time was Chinese. The reasons why the tower leans are the soft ground on which it was built, as well as the weight of the water in the water tank, which causes it to lean towards the southwest. The Leaning Tower also known as the Clock Tower, the clock on the tower was used to keep time. It becomes one of the famous tourism in Malaysia and attracts many tourists come to visit it every year. Tourists also come for the famous local food - Chee Cheong Fun. It is delicious and nice.
